Klingele Paper & Packaging Group: Boiler feed water treatment for power plant

Within the scope of various process optimizations, the power plant was to be equipped with its own boiler feed water treatment system. Potable water was to be turned into deionised water – i.e. salt-free make-up water – with an output of 10 m³/h. Beyond this, the fully automatic water treatment process was to be integrated into the power plant’s distributed control system.

Following extensive consultation, the professional processing concept comprising pretreatment, water desalination and complete desalination immediately impressed the client. The experts also developed a solution to integrate the demineralised water treatment process into the distributed system of the power plant, thereby incorporating the complete process in the power plant’s automated system.

Benefits

The demineralised water treatment process now provides the power plant with a continuous supply of desalinated water. This provides maximum production security for the paper factory, as the high-quality boiler feed water now plays a significant role in protecting piping, boilers and heat exchangers. Moreover, the entire process of treating the boiler feed water has been integrated into the power plant’s own automation system.
